Chapter 9

​One day while we were chatting Donny brought up the progress of our restaurant asking how our business was going.

I said that we were very happy with progress and growth and that we had enticed back a lot of the old pub regulars and gained a lot of new customers to the restaurant who had followed Mike from his previous restaurant plus a lot of customers from the locality now that we had gained a good reputation for our cuisine.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to mention that when we could afford it we would like to reconfigure the ground floor, with his permission of course, to separate the bar trade from the restaurant trade.

We would also like to look at having an extension off the bar to serve bar snacks as we thought there was a lot of potential there judging by the number of requests we were getting.

Donny asked if doing bar snacks would affect the restaurant business.

I said my Husband had a plan to counter that.

'Why do you need a separate bar for the restaurant?'

'We think some restaurant customers feel a bit uncomfortable in the bar as usually people dress up to have a meal at a restaurant and they feel a bit out of place mixing with people sometimes in their work clothes and sometimes the language can be a little too rich.'

Donny said 'yes OK, all sounds good, look you know I will want to help you get on don't you?'

Then with his business head on he added 'look I'll come round next week so if you and your husband talk me through what you would like to do I can get it costed and if it increases the value of the property enough and you accept I may have to increase the rent a little at the next rent revue. Then it might be a goer.'

I took that as a possible offer to fund the work but wondered to myself if that meant he was calculating the possible 'side benefits' to himself – in other words thinking with his cock – but then if he did think with his cock I might be able to get him to do a lot for us?

Dismissing that thought though, I pulled a face and said 'I hope the rent rise wouldn't be too much!'

'Of course not you might go off me if I overdid it and I wouldn't want that.'

Mike of course was waiting to hear how I had got on sexually at the 'hideaway' but I was anxious to tell him about the conversation I had with Mr D about the changes we were hoping to do.

So I gave him a quick rundown of highlights but said he would enjoy it more in bed tonight.

So I jumped straight and outlined the chat I had with Mr D about the changes we would like to make.

I was disappointed by his initial reaction.

He said we and me in particular might feel too beholden to Mr
